THE 2022 NVL SET TO TAKE OFF IN FREE STATE, BLOEMFONTEIN

The Tempe Military Base Volleyball Arena in Bloemfontein will come alive with the pulsating sounds of high -octane volleyball action when VSA hosts its 2022 National Volleyball League (NVL), its flagship Inter-Provincial tournament catering for women and men’s senior teams.

The 3 rd edition of the National Volleyball League (NVL) takes place from 26 to 30 September 2022. According to VSA President Mr.Anthony Mokoena each province will have two U19 players of both genders as part of its contingent. ‘’ This will be a great learning experience for the youngsters as they rub shoulders with their more experienced senior counterparts in pursuit of glory of being crowned national champions,’’ said Mokoena.

The VSA President went on to say that given the wealth of talent witnessed recently at the National U17 Schools Volleyball Championship in Cape Town and at the National Junior Inter-Provincial Championship hosted in Seshego in the Limpopo Province, provincial teams will reflect a rich blend of senior and youth who will go the extra few kilometres to impress the national selectors.

VSA Treasurer, Vinesh Maharaj who was appointed as the Project Manager of the 2022 NVL by the VSA President is confident that the Bloemfontein event will surpass the previous two NVL’s as it promises to be a high quality national event presented by VSA.

‘’ We have adequately taken care of all logistic matters and now its up to the provincial teams to create the excitement on the courts,’’ indicated Maharaj. ‘’While KZN and arch rivals Gauteng are tipped to dominate the medals presentation ceremony, however it will be unwise to discount ‘dark horses’ Limpopo, North West, Mpumalanga and the Free State who according to the volleyball pundits are set to
upset the tournament favourites, said Maharaj.’’

According to the VSA President Anthony Mokoena, a glittering gala dinner for all the teams, their officials, sponsors and special guests will bring the curtain down on national indoor volleyball championships for the 2022 season.
