MAJOR BREAK THROUGH FOR VOLLEYBALL IN SOUTH AFRICA

Johannesburg, 1 st September 2022

In a ground-breaking development for Volleyball South Africa (VSA), the sporting body has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Vision View TV, an online television channel.

In terms of the MOU, Vision View TV will broadcast all of Volleyball South Africa’s major events.

Kicking off this Understanding, VSA’s flagship National Volleyball League (NVL), the Inter-Provincial Tournament for both genders will be covered by Vision View TV as part of this Understanding. The event will be hosted at the Tempe Military Base Volleyball Arena in Bloemfontein from 26 to 30 September.

Influential negotiator and dealmaker, “Maharaj who has gained vast experience over the years in dealing with Corporate South Africa clinched the deal with Vision View TV. Maharaj, Treasurer of VSA said that this is a game changer for Volleyball in the country and augurs well for the future growth of Volleyball”.

“This development gives us greater exposure and can only contribute to the further growth of the sport in South Africa. Unlike other major sporting codes, volleyball has been lacking in sponsorship. We believe television coverage of the sport will afford us the opportunity to attract corporate involvement in

Volleyball, something that has been lacking for some time. This is a major breakthrough for us” Indicated VSA President Anthony Mokoena.

Vision View Managing Director, Mafadi Mpuru expressed his excitement: – “The live broadcast of Volleyball by Vision View is a welcome development. We are excited to once more be able to showcase our production capabilities through broadcasting the sport. In fact, we will bring to the party all of Production, Television and Radio, and thereby fashion a cutting edge broadcast product for Volleyball South Africa.”

Mpuru went on to state that the establishment of Vision View Production some 15 years ago as a wholly black owned enterprise, was the product of SuperSport creating and affording them opportunities in producing magazine shows and other sport broadcast products. It was these opportunities that assisted Vision View Production to grow in leaps and bounds in the live broadcast, radio and television
environment.
