Vaal University of Technology (VUT) men’s team captain Khutso “Sushi” Mamabolo says VUT is ready to defend their tittle since they walked as the champions of the 2019 Tubby Ready Cup which was used for the Zone 6 Club Championships.
According to Sushi “For VUT this is a whole new volleyball game, it’s a new year, new tournament so it’s a *MUST* for us to bring a new attitude for this tournament. “As for our readiness that can only be determined during and after the tournament”, Sushi added. Even though there were no volleyball activities in 2020, VUT is going to the tournament with a rich profile which is as follows:
1. Zone 6 Club Championships quart-finalist (2019)
2. Tubby Reddy Cup Champions (2019)
3. USSA Champions (2019)
4. VSA Cup bronze medalist (2019)
Now the interesting question is; will VUT be able to defend their ranking status this time around. Of course this will be determined during the Club Championships which will be staged on 26-30 October 2021 in Gauteng, Benoni.
