CHAMPIONS CUP DATES CHANGED TO 10-14 OCTOBER
At the outset we apologise for any inconvenience caused with the dates of the 2023 Champions Cup being changed from 26-30 September to 10-14 October to accommodate for television coverage by SABC Sport. The championship will be staged at UKZN Sports Centre.
Host province Kwa Zulu Natal informed the VSA President that SABC Sport was not available to cover the event on the original dates of 26 to 30 September but were prepared to give the Champions Cup event full coverage on the sports channel that has millions of viewers. Given the huge spin-offs for volleyball, the VSA President and his Manco unanimously agreed to accede to KZN Volleyball’s request to accommodate SABC Sport Television on the new dates 10-14 October at UKZN Sports Centre, Durban.
In addition, the new dates will obviate a clash with the Zone V1 Nations Cup to be held in Harare, Zimbabwe from 22 September to 1st October.
An added incentive for the teams participating in this Champions Cup is that KZN Volleyball has secured a sponsor for prize money.
Information regarding the dates for the Preliminary Enquiry & Technical Meetings will be communicated to the membership shortly.
