ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE SOUTH AFRICAN MEN’s BEACH VOLLEYBALL TEAMS FOR TOKYO OLYMPIC GAMES QUALIFIER IN MOROCCO

The President of Volleyball South Africa, Mr.Anthony Kamohelo Mokoena takes pleasure in announcing the two men’s teams that will represent South Africa at the 2021 Beach Volleyball Qualifier in Morocco, a precursor to the Tokyo Olympic Games.

The President and his Executive Committee convey their heartfelt congratulations to the following players who emerged as front runners after a gruelling selection process to claim their respective places in the South African Team:

1.     Leo Williams (Western Cape)

2.     Mthozisi Mdingi (Kwa Zulu Natal)

3.     Jerome Fredericks (Western Cape)

4.     Clinton Stemmet (Western Cape)

The Coach is Ms.Gadija Jappie (Western Cape)

 
“Given the quality and experience of the players at this level of competition we are hopeful that the South Africans will do their country proud by reaching the podium as medallists,” said VSA President Anthony Mokoena.

Mokoena went on to say that in the group stage the South Africans will square up against emerging African giants Ghana, Sudan, Niger and Tanzania.

The winners of the Qualifier to be staged from  21 -27 June will represent the African Continent at the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games Beach Volleyball event. The Tokyo Olympic Games takes place from 23 July to 8 August.
