The inaugural Tubby Reddy Classic gets under way at the University of Kwa Zulu Natal’s Westville Campus Sports Centre in Durban from 20 to 22 September 2018.
Sponsored by Tubby Reddy ,Volleyball South Africa’s former President, the event caters for both women and men and has a staggering R100 000 as prize money. Given the lucrative incentive offered to teams the organisers are bracing themselves for a huge turn out of spectators as some of the country’s elite teams will grace the event. Admission to the venue is free.
Local Durban fans have already indicated their intention of getting behind KZN’s Liberte and UKZN with the hope that they will make it to the podium as medallists.
Limpopo’s Kamplits and VW from the Eastern Cape are determined to upset the local teams plans to get a huge slice of the prize money.
Given the pedigree of Pretoria’s TUKS (University of Pretoria) and Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) both teams are tipped to reach the women’s finals on Saturday, 22 September.
