NATIONAL VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE KICKS OFF IN MARCH

National Volleyball League

National Volleyball League – The year 2017 ushered in a new era for volleyball in our country when the Minister of Sport and Recreation, the Honourable Mr.Thulas Nxesi announced in parliament that Volleyball South Africa (VSA)was declared as the Federation of the Year.

Volleyball’s newly acquired status catapults the sport to new heights as Sport and Recreation South Africa (SRSA) allocated R10 million over a three year period to boost the sport with a national league played inter provincially over four week ends in March 2018. The NVL caters for both indoor and beach volleyball for men. The opening leg will be played from 2 to 4 March at the University of Kwa Zulu Natal (UKZN), Westville Campus (indoor league) and Durban’s New Beach (beach volleyball). SRSA has entered into a partnership with SuperSport for television coverage of the NVL.

While VSA is expected to sustain the NVL through corporate sponsorship after the three year period the National Federation (VSA) conveys its gratitude to SRSA for giving the sport the much needed exposure and the leverage to knock on the doors of corporate South Africa.

Still waiting for an answer from you to officiate at the VB league. It would be my pleasure to be part of this historical occasion.

    1. Please check with the local volleyball executive committee and the municipality as they are responsible in building facilities, check further with the local sport council in that area who are to give answers.
